Grandma’s Brown Sugar Frosting

[1]

Recently a family in our church needed some meals.  It was a crazy time for every one in our church and I knew that and had not signed up to take a meal but last minute I decided I could tag team with the one person who had signed up  and offered to bring a dessert.  Fortunately, I had an angel food cake in the freezer that I could pull out and put my grandmother’s Brown Sugar Frosting on.  I have such great memories being in her home Sunday after church for lunch and she would often serve us this exact deliciousness!  This recipe is great on cinnamon rolls or chocolate cake!  And it is super easy!

And this is the final project.  I could eat a piece of this right now!!

Happy Autumn ya’ll!

Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan melt the butter; add brown sugar and cook on med high heat until mixture boils. Boil for 1 - 2 minutes. I did 2 minutes (it makes a thicker frosting). Remove from heat and add half & half, salt and vanilla. Let mixture cool for 5 minutes and then add powdered sugar; beat with a hand mixer until smooth. If you think this is too thick to your liking add a bit more half & half. Spread over cake or cinnamon rolls. Most of all ENJOY!
